About Course

The Scope and Influence of Procurement and Supply (L4M1) course provides a comprehensive introduction to the role of procurement and supply in creating organisational value. Based on the CIPS Procurement Cycle, the course explores sourcing activities, stakeholder involvement, compliance requirements, and the influence of procurement and supply on organisational performance and cost management.

What Will You Learn?

  • Understand the scope and value of procurement and supply chain management
  • Differentiate between procurement and supply chain management and related concepts
  • Identify key sources of added value, including the five rights of procurement, life-cycle costing, sustainability, and value for money
  • Classify organisational spend and different procurement categories
  • Identify and map key internal and external stakeholders in procurement and supply
  • Explain and analyse all stages of the CIPS Procurement Cycle
  • Understand how electronic systems support procurement activities
  • Evaluate the role of governance, ethics, policies, and organisational structures in procurement
